Vietnam is working on a legal framework for cryptocurrencies, expected to be issued by mid-2025. Trading and storage are allowed, but payments in cryptocurrencies are still prohibited, with fines reaching up to $8,200. A pilot environment for financial technology and experimental platforms may be launched by 2026 and 2027.
