In June 2025, Vietnam will officially recognize the legal status of crypto assets through the "Digital Technology Industry Law," which will come into effect in 2026. The new law will categorize digital assets into "virtual assets" and "crypto assets," establish a clear regulatory framework, and strengthen anti-money laundering and cybersecurity requirements. This move will help Vietnam exit the FATF gray list, enhance international investment confidence, and encourage the development of digital industries such as blockchain and AI in the region, injecting new momentum into the Southeast Asian crypto ecosystem.
