State representative Melissa Hortman was found shot dead in her own home in Brooklyn Park. Can you imagine! And it doesn't stop there, her husband, Mark, was also shot and unfortunately passed away in the hospital. A true family tragedy that gives us goosebumps.
But wait, things are getting weirder. Just a few kilometers away, state senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were also shot. The good news is that they have already undergone surgery and are stable. A relief amidst so much chaos! In fact, Yvette was a very brave woman for standing in front of her daughter to protect her from the attacker.
Boelter exposed! The FBI reveals disturbing details and increases the reward.
And here is where the plot thickens: the FBI has identified the suspect as Vance Boelter, 57 years old. This guy is a real wolf in sheep's clothing, because he posed as a police officer, yes, you heard right! He was wearing a vest, a Taser, and even a badge, and he drove a truck that looked like an official patrol vehicle. A tremendous deception to get into houses!
Governor Tim Walz did not mince words and described these attacks as "politically motivated". It turns out that in the vehicle Boelter abandoned, they found a "manifesto" and a list of politicians, including those who support abortion rights and, of course, the attacked legislators! Flyers related to protests called "No Kings" were also found. So this seems to be something bigger and darker than we thought!
Moreover, things heated up when police confronted Boelter at Hortman's house. There was a shooting and the guy managed to escape on foot! Authorities say he is armed and extremely dangerous, so if you see him, don't even think about approaching!
The FBI is hot on his heels with a massive manhunt and has released new photos of Boelter, including one where he is seen at the door of one of the victims, disguised as a police officer. The reward for information leading to his capture and conviction remains at $50,000!
Who is Vance Boelter? For now, we know he lives in a rural area of Sibley County. He is a white man, 1.85 m tall and weighs around 100 kg, with gray hair and brown eyes. The most curious thing is that he has experience as a security contractor in the Middle East and Africa, and he even served on a state board with Senator Hoffman for over six years. It seems that before all this, he sent a message to his friends saying he had "made some decisions" and that he might die soon.
This is a total mess and the community is in shock. We will be keeping an eye on the news to see how this tremendous mess unfolds, and we hope they catch Boelter soon. Take care!
