What changes will TRX undergo after its first "halving"?

Do you remember a few months ago when I wrote an article about a proposal initiated by the TRON network, which aimed to reduce block rewards and voting rewards, and explained the anticipated situation after the reduction? Recently, it was officially approved with 25 votes from super representatives and took effect at 14:00 Beijing time on June 13.

So what are the details of the reduction proposal?

According to the proposal, TRX block rewards are reduced from 16 TRX to 8 TRX, a decrease of 50%. TRX voting rewards are reduced from 160 TRX to 128 TRX, a decrease of 20%.

How much will the daily output of TRX decrease after the reduction?

According to TRONSCAN data, we know that TRON generates about one block every 3 seconds, resulting in approximately 28,800 blocks per day.

Before the reduction, each block produced 160 voting rewards and 16 block rewards, leading to a daily output of about 5 million TRX, while the destruction rate is determined by network data, averaging between 5 to 10 million TRX.

After the reduction, each block will produce 128 voting rewards and 8 block rewards, with a daily output of about 3.9 million TRX, which is a decrease of about 1.1 million TRX compared to the output before the reduction. It is also expected to increase the annual deflation rate of TRX from 0.85% to 1.29%.

In fact, due to the unique network design of TRX, it began to achieve deflation as early as 2021, and now, four years later, it has implemented a reduction. This indicates a healthy development of the ecosystem, directly reducing the generation speed of new TRX, and also marks a key step for TRX towards a high-deflation era.
