In a powerful and emotional act, Iran has raised the red flag of “revenge” over the Jamkaran Mosque in Qom. This flag is rarely used and is a symbol of mourning and justice. The last time it was raised was in 2020, after General Qassem Soleimani was killed.

This time, the red flag comes after the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran — which Iran blames on Israel.
