A Pivot Point is a special level on your chart.

It shows you where price might go

  1. Bounce

  2. Reverse

  3. or Breakout

It’s like a GPS for traders.

It comes with levels

  • Pivot (P) – the main level

  • R1, R2, R3 – Resistance zones (above)

  • S1, S2, S3 – Support zones (below)

How It’s Calculated

  • Pivot (P) = (High + Low + Close) / 3

Then from that, the chart gives you.

  • Support levels (S1, S2, S3)

  • Resistance levels (R1, R2, R3)

Most chart apps like TradingView do this for you.

So How to Use It, right?

  1. If price is above Pivot, think Bullish

  2. If price is below Pivot, think Bearish

  3. R1/S1 = Targets or bounce points

  4. R2/S2 = Danger zones! price might reverse hard.

  5. R3/S3 = Overcooked levels – expect drama or exhaustion

Don’t treat Pivot as your ex, if price breaks it, let it go.

Because When You Done With Your Ex - Move On To The Next.

Example

Once I shorted at S1.

It bounced and slapped my SL.

Pivot was saying Bro, I was your support, why didn’t you listen?

So

Don’t fight Pivot. Respect it like your landlord. It owns the area.

Questions

Q: Can I use Pivot Points for intraday trading?

A: 100% It’s built for short term trades. You can even use it on 5M and 15M charts.

Q: Are Pivot Points better than Fibonacci?

A: Don’t start a war. Use both! But Pivot is simpler and faster to spot reactions.

Q: Do big traders use this?

A: Yes, especially algo bots and institutional traders. They LOVE clean levels.

Q: What if price is stuck between Pivot and R1?

A: Welcome to Boring Town. Wait for breakout. Don’t jump in like it's Black Friday.

Another Example to Understand Pivot

Imagine the market is a pizza. Pivot is the crust — solid and in the center. R1 & S1 = First bite zones. R2 & S2 = The spicy toppings area, might burn or taste amazing

R3/S3 = Bro, you are over eating, time to chill

My Opinion

Don’t use Pivot Points alone. Add RSI, MACD, or Price Action for confirmation.

Watch how price reacts at Pivot — not just touches it.

If price is dancing around Pivot without moving, don’t enter. It’s confused too.

Don’t place blind orders on R2/S2 — wait for confirmation. No need to be a hero.

So

Pivot Points don’t tell you what will happen.

They tell you where something interesting might happen.

It’s like a tea stall in the market everyone passes through,

and sometimes fights break out there.

So respect the Pivot. Trade smart.

Don’t trade with hope, trade with plan.
