Cardano (ADA), a veteran proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain, is celebrating a huge milestone in onboarding dApps. Currently, 2004 active cryptocurrency products are based on Cardano's smart contracts. This assessment was provided by Input Output, the global entity overseeing the development of Cardano solutions.
According to the Cardano Development Report, these projects support over 138,000 Plutus scripts, DeFi programs characteristic of Cardano, with a growth rate of 0.22% over the past seven days. Furthermore, the Cardano validation ecosystem is rapidly growing: Cardano has adopted 1352 DReps (validators), with 967 DReps currently active. The metric increased by 0.44% over the week. These validators are supported by 1.3 million delegating ADA wallets.
Cardano developers are preparing major updates to the software architecture project. A new tracking system for the Cardano node is underway, and the next Plutus update is also in progress. Developer activity in the Cardano project is sharply rising: 278 commits were added on GitHub over the past seven days, representing a 33% increase compared to the previous period.
Over 10.8 million tokens are now active on Cardano, which is a record value for all layer 1 blockchains. Cardano accounts have reached 110 million on-chain transactions, according to data. Additionally, Input Output reported progress in implementing the Cardano educational initiative and Project Catalyst, a community-led dApp incubator.
