#IsraelIranConflict Iran says the U.S. must be held accountable for Israel's attack

Iran summoned the Swiss ambassador in Tehran to deliver a warning to the United States, accusing Washington of complicity in Israel's attack.

"It is unthinkable that the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime against Iran have taken place without the cooperation, coordination, and at least a green light from the U.S., and in this regard, the U.S. must be held accountable for its illegal behavior in this respect," said the Iranian representative to Nadine Lozano, the Swiss ambassador in Tehran, according to a statement published by the state agency IRNA.

Iran also warned against any U.S. support for Israel during Tehran's response, "including preventing Iran from exercising its right to legitimate defense," the statement said.

The U.S. and Iran have no diplomatic relations, and Switzerland acts as the official representative of U.S. interests in the country.
