The Pi Network team has reportedly shared a new security protocol for users in China. When Chinese users log into the Pi Network app, they are greeted with a mandatory video message. Some of the key challenges facing the China region discussed in the video are:

  • Mapping Delays: Video on Why Mapping Is Slow in China.

  • Security Risks: Emphasizes security risks when swiping numbers and other crimes.

  • Wallet Security: Remind users to pay attention to wallet security.

Additionally, the video points out that PiCoreTeam does not designate any individual or organization to act on their behalf. Users are advised to only use official channels for information and support. This effort underscores PiCoreTeam’s dedication to providing additional security and transparency within the Pi Network, especially in areas where specific issues have been raised.

In addition to the current security concerns in China, Pi Network users around the world are experiencing persistent issues following the release of version 1.41.0 of the app on May 9, 2025. Although the update includes minor bug fixes, many users have been reluctant to install it, resulting in the loss of Pi balances and persistent 2FA errors.

The issue that remains significant is the stuck coin migration, where users have been waiting on Step 9 for months after completing all the necessary procedures such as KYC and lockup terms. This creates frustration as some users are progressing and others are waiting and there is no update, calling into question the transparency and integrity of the migration process across the entire Pi community.
