#IsraelIranConflict The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, explained this Friday that he ordered preparations for the attack that occurred this Friday against Iran's nuclear facilities six months ago, stating that he had no choice but to launch these bombings, asserting that the Islamic Republic was closer than ever to manufacturing a nuclear weapon. In a speech to the nation, Netanyahu said that the key moment occurred in September 2024, with the death of the Secretary General of the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, an ally of Iran, precisely in an Israeli attack.
"From that moment on, it became clear to me that the Iranian wall had collapsed and that Iran would have to accelerate its nuclear program," Netanyahu indicated, before specifying that the plans for the attack began to take shape in November, initially conceived for execution in April of this year, but ultimately postponed until now at the Army's recommendation. Netanyahu argued that the decision to give the green light to the Iranian attack is due to an existential and unavoidable issue. "If Iran were to acquire a nuclear weapon, we would not be here," mentioned the Prime Minister.
