Gotbit Founder Gets 8 Months in Prison for Fraud

The US Department of Justice has sentenced Alexey Andryunin, co-founder of market maker Gotbit, to 8 months in prison. In March 2025, he pleaded guilty to crypto market manipulation and fraud, agreeing to forfeit $23 million in crypto assets.

The case alleges that Gotbit created artificial liquidity, inflated the volumes and prices of little-known tokens, misleading investors. The court also imposed a five-year probationary period, after which Gotbit must permanently cease its operations.
