#IsraelIranConflict Scale and Targets of the Attack
Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, deploying around 200 fighter jets to strike ~100 targets in Iran — including nuclear facilities (such as Natanz), military bases, and residences of senior officials such as General Hossein Salami and Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri.
This attack was described by PM Netanyahu as a "preemptive operation" to prevent Iran from reaching the threshold of nuclear capability.
⚰️ Casualties and Iran's Response
Several high-ranking Iranian officials were killed — including Salami and Bagheri as well as key nuclear scientists.
Iran responded by launching over 100 drones towards Israel. Some were intercepted by Israeli air defenses.
Iran's highest leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, warned of a "heavy retaliation."
🌍 Regional & Global Impact
The airspace of Israel, Iran, Iraq, and Jordan was temporarily closed; international airlines canceled or altered flight routes, including around 30 flights from/to India.
Brent oil prices surged by more than 8%, reflecting concerns over the reliability of trade routes and energy market stability.
Several countries — Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and others — condemned the attack and expressed concerns that the conflict would jeopardize the scheduled nuclear diplomacy process.
