What is Jager?

Jager is the smallest denomination of BNB, which is divisible by 8 decimal places.

For example, Satoshi is the smallest denomination or unit of Bitcoin (BTC). Its name is a tribute to the Telegram username of the then Community Manager of Binance, Jager.

1 Jager = 0.00000001 BNB

Cryptocurrencies are digital assets created from lines of code, which you can divide into smaller parts.

A part of a Bitcoin is called Satoshi, in honor of the mysterious founder of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. A Satoshi is one hundred millionth of a Bitcoin, or 0.00000001 BTC.

Why does this matter?

Cryptocurrencies have characteristics similar to gold: they are valuable and have a finite supply. However, unlike gold, cryptocurrencies can be divided into smaller parts to make them more manageable and easier to spend.

The value of coins in circulation is also affected by the number of decimal places used. Some cryptocurrencies have only two decimal places, while others have eight decimal places. For example:

Bitcoin has an additional zero at the end, meaning it has two more decimal places than Litecoin (eight) and four more than Dogecoin (six). This means that the price of Dogecoin does not need to increase as much as that of Bitcoin or Litecoin to reach the same value.
