Technically, yes. Burning 20 trillion tokens per year could enable Shiba Inu to reach the $0.001 mark someday. In theory, no. Sending that many tokens each year can be a challenge, as even Shibarium is unable to manage such capacity. Here’s a breakdown of whether burning 10 trillion SHIB per year could push the price to $0.001.
The hypothesis: 20 trillion tokens burned per year
Current total supply of $SHIB : 589 trillion tokens.
If 20 trillion tokens are burned per year, that amounts to 500 trillion SHIB burned after 25 years.
In 25 years, this would eliminate 500 trillion SHIB, almost the entirety of the current supply.
The result: only about 89 trillion Shiba Inu tokens would be left (if no new SHIB are minted).
But is it possible? The odds of burning 20 trillion SHIB tokens over 25 years are slim. Its market capitalization would also exceed 85 billion dollars, representing 11 times its current valuation. To burn 10 trillion tokens per year, Shibarium needs to optimize its burning mechanism and streamline the process. Even third-party applications must collaborate to provide solutions for burning the tokens.
Shiba Inu developers must also find new ways to burn the supply and not rely solely on Shibarium. If all these requirements are not met in the coming years, SHIB will have no chance of reaching $0.001.
