#IsraelIranConflict

The conflict between Israel and Iran represents one of the most sensitive geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The tension began with the Iranian Revolution in 1979, when Iran adopted an aggressive policy towards Israel, referring to it as the 'occupying Zionist entity.' In contrast, Israel views Iran as an existential threat, especially after the development of its nuclear program and its support for factions such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. Covert operations have increased, such as assassinations and cyberattacks, and sometimes mutual airstrikes through proxies. The conflict does not only take place in Iran or Israel, but extends to arenas such as Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon. The international community is trying to calm the situation, but the roots of enmity remain deeply ideological and political, making escalation a constant possibility and peace a distant goal.
