MANHATTAN - U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his crypto achievements at a conference on Thursday, telling the audience that it is an "honor" for him to be considered the president who supports cryptocurrencies.
Speaking in a 90-second recorded video at the Coinbase (COIN) State of Crypto Summit (not related to the CoinDesk newsletter of the same name), Trump reiterated his previously expressed statements about ending the so-called war of his predecessor against cryptocurrencies and forming a working group for study.
Trump also mentioned legislative initiatives that are under consideration in Congress.
"My administration is working with governors to pass the GENIUS Act, which supports the creation of dollar-backed stablecoins, and we will also work on creating clear and simple market frameworks that will allow America to dominate in the future of cryptocurrencies and bitcoin," he said in the hall.
