The U.S. president confirmed that he could extend the deadline of July 9 to avoid the implementation of reciprocal tariffs, while maintaining negotiations with more than a dozen countries, including Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

Last week, the White House confirmed that the U.S. Trade Representative, Jamieson Greer, sent a letter to several international partners reminding them of the approaching July 9 deadline, the date on which the pause established in April for the application of tariffs will end. Washington had announced then a waiting period to facilitate bilateral negotiations.
