$BTC TrumpTariffs Trump wrote a post on his social network Truth Social. According to him, the tariff on American products purchased by China will be 10%, and Chinese products imported by the USA will be taxed at 55%.

According to Bloomberg, the 55% mentioned by Trump is the sum of the universal tariff of 10% applied to all countries, including Brazil; 20% relating to a kind of "punishment" for fentanyl trafficking (Trump accuses Beijing of not making an effort to curb the trafficking) and about 25% of tariffs instituted during Trump's first term on certain Chinese products, according to a White House official — although the exact total is not clear.

At the height of the tariff war, in April, the USA applied a 145% tax on Chinese imports, and China applied 125% on American items.

In the following month, both countries agreed to suspend retaliatory tariffs for 90 days while negotiating a solution. The consensus reached in Geneva stipulated that the tariffs would be 30% (from the USA, on Chinese products) and 10% (from China, on American Chinese items).
