Is USD1 here? How will TRON take the lead in the main battlefield?
Yesterday, something happened: USD1 was officially issued on TRON, and the first minting took place, with 1000 USD1 minted. Justin Sun personally tweeted to celebrate this moment.
For TRON, this is not only a major move in the stablecoin ecosystem but also symbolizes that TRON's development direction is becoming increasingly broad. Whether it’s USDT as a payment, settlement, and trading currency, USDD as a decentralized stablecoin circulating on-chain, or USD1 backed by U.S. Treasury reserves issued by WLFI, there are vast opportunities here.
How is USD1 performing in the three major battlefields: ETH, BSC, and TRON?
1/ The development of USD1 on Ethereum seems uneventful
From Etherscan, we can see that the supply of USD1 is only $47.67 million, mainly concentrated in Binance, Bitget, and smart contracts.
The initial adoption of USD1 on Ethereum was through WLFI airdropping 47 USD1 to each subscriber. Therefore, there are currently no application scenarios, and not many people are adopting it.
2/ The development of USD1 on BNB Chain is vibrant
From Bscscan, we can see that the supply of USD1 is $2.141 billion, which sounds exaggerated, but in fact, $2 billion of it comes from the MGX sovereign fund using USD1 as a settlement method in collaboration with Binance. So the real growth is $141 million, with most of the circulation still controlled by two hot wallets of Binance.
Currently, on BNB Chain, due to events held with WLFI, there has been the emergence of USD1 liquidity Memecoins, with many Memes participating, which is a significant application scenario.
3/ The development of USD1 on TRON is brewing
From Tronscan, we can see that the supply of USD1 is 1000, stemming from yesterday's first minting of USD1, and Sun posted a tweet celebrating this moment.
What actions USD1 will take in the future on TRON is unknown, but I believe it is already on its way.
Compared to Ethereum and BNB Chain, where does TRON have its advantages?
As the largest settlement ecosystem for stablecoins, TRON accounts for over 50% of USDT supply and has accumulated substantial funds. The choice of USD1 to be issued on TRON will certainly lead to more payment, settlement, and trading scenarios that can develop rapidly.
As an official consideration of WLFI, there must be great ambition to develop USD1, but if USD1 is only seen as an on-chain trading scenario, its prospects will certainly be smaller than payment scenarios. The payment scenarios of USDT allow many who are unfamiliar with crypto to use it for settlements, so USD1’s development on TRON is the real beginning, and TRON will continue to advance the stablecoin ecosystem as its main battlefield.
