⚖️ DeFi, regulation and the role of developers: where is the line of responsibility?

At the recent SEC roundtable, a key discussion arose: should DeFi developers be held accountable as financial intermediaries, or remain in the category of open-source creators?

My opinion: a balance needs to be found.

💡 On one hand, code is a public tool, and punishing developers just for creating infrastructure is dangerous for innovation.

🔍 But when projects cross the line — for example, have centralized admin controls, manage keys, or issue tokens — responsibility should be higher.

🧩 Regulation should evolve, focusing not on the developers themselves, but on the actual points of centralization: DAOs, multisig management, custodial solutions.

👥 Open collaboration between the DeFi community and regulators is the only way to avoid stifling Web3 before it even has a chance to flourish.

What approach do you support: strict regulation or flexible adaptation to the coding era?
