BRITAIN TO BOOST PUBLIC SPENDING BY $2.7 TRILLION IN THE COMING YEARS
Chancellor Rachel Reeves has presented bold new plans to Parliament, outlining a commitment to allocate over £2 trillion (about $2.7 trillion) for public spending in the United Kingdom. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to reinforce public services and enhance the government's role in economic support and stability.
Reeves stated that government department budgets will see a 2.3% annual increase in real terms during the next spending review period—marking a notable change from the tighter budgets of previous administrations. The outlined expenditure includes an additional £190 billion ($256.3 billion) beyond the last government's plans, ensuring more resources for critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and transportation.
