The CLARITY Act for the U.S. digital asset market is currently under review by the Financial Services Committee and the Agriculture Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. Amendment #2, 'Prohibiting President Trump and his family from profiting from the trading or promotion of cryptocurrency assets,' was defeated. Chairman Thompson stated that this is not the place to discuss the president's ethics.
The other amendments that have been reviewed include:
Amendment #1, 'Comprehensive Reauthorization of the CFTC (U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission),' was defeated;
Amendment #6, 'To enable the CFTC to charge more fees from market participants,' was passed.
