Joshua Dalton, founder of the blockchain startup TRIBLU, suggested that tech billionaire Elon Musk could soon see XRP as the backbone of his upcoming financial platform, X Money.

This assertion was made in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), further fueling ongoing speculation about which digital asset could anchor Musk's ambitions to turn X into a super app for communication and all-in-one payments.

Notably, in the post, Dalton claimed that Musk "will do anything" to make XRP the central currency of the platform.

"I believe that Elon Musk will do everything possible to make Ripple XRP the preferred choice and integrate it into X — while Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Donald Trump witness World Liberty Finance and Bitcoin collapse before their eyes," he wrote on Thursday.

Although there are no official signs that Musk is planning to make such a move, the idea has received support from XRP advocates, especially as tensions rise between Musk and former U.S. President Donald Trump, a well-known Bitcoin enthusiast.

Earlier last week, their discord escalated after Musk criticized a federal spending bill, prompting Trump to threaten Musk's government contracts. That political drama caused Tesla's stock to plummet, wiping out more than $150 billion from the company's market capitalization.

The cryptocurrency market was also not immune to the fallout. Bitcoin fell more than 6% after the clash, and XRP also declined amid a broader sell-off.

Musk, who had previously shied away from Bitcoin due to its environmental impact and focus on mining, may find the efficiency and speed of XRP appealing. XRP's environmentally friendly trading model and low costs may align with X Money's planned cross-border capabilities.

Although Musk primarily focused on Dogecoin in his comments about cryptocurrency, he publicly mentioned XRP for the first time in October 2024 in a viral video. In response to a question about the global potential of XRP in the context of regulatory oversight, Musk acknowledged that cryptocurrencies like XRP could support individual financial freedom. He carefully stated that his comments "are not an endorsement or lack of endorsement."

Anthony Scaramucci, former White House Communications Director and founder of SkyBridge Capital, also mentioned the possibility of integrating cryptocurrency into X.

"I think he will build a super app there and I think he will use cryptocurrency," Scaramucci said in an interview in April with Saxo. "Will it be his own coin like Telegram is doing? Will it be a stablecoin? It will be something. I don't know what it will be, but it will be something."
