According to reports, the UK Insolvency Service has appointed former detective Andrew Small as the first expert dedicated to cryptocurrency intelligence, responsible for tracking and identifying digital assets in bankruptcy and criminal cases. This position is located within the investigation and enforcement department and will help enhance the efficiency of liquidation recovery. Data shows that in the 2024/25 fiscal year, there will be 59 bankruptcy cases involving recoverable cryptocurrency assets, a 420% increase from 14 cases in 2019/20, with the total value of related assets rising from approximately £1,400 to over £520,000.
