50% tariffs on steel & aluminum and a 125% tariff on many Chinese imports were recently implemented, alongside a 10% universal tariff on all imports, making U.S. tariff rates the highest since 1938 .

The U.S. has entered a 90-day truce with China, reducing tariffs to 30% and 10% respectively, while maintaining the 10% general import tariff .

Washington is also beginning working-level tariff negotiations with South Korea, aiming to reach an agreement before the truce ends .
