#USChinaTradeTalks The trade talks between the United States and China in London this week are expected to address a series of new disputes that have shaken the relations between the two countries, threatening the fragile truce regarding tariffs.
The two sides had agreed in Geneva last month to a 90-day suspension of most tariffs exceeding 100% that each side had imposed on the other, as part of an escalating trade war that has raised concerns about an economic recession.
Since then, the United States and China have exchanged angry statements regarding advanced semiconductors used to power artificial intelligence technologies, rare minerals essential for automotive companies and other industries, as well as visas for Chinese students at American universities.
