Ripple is expanding its footprint in Asia through a strategic alliance with Japan’s Web3 Salon, backed by the government-affiliated agency JETRO. The goal: to boost blockchain innovation by offering grants of up to $200,000 to startups building on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

This partnership focuses primarily on Japanese projects, while also reinforcing Ripple’s position as a leading player in Asia’s growing digital asset ecosystem.

Funding, Mentorship, and Technical Support – Ripple Offers Full-Scale Backing

According to an official announcement on X, Ripple has teamed up with Web3 Salon to co-finance and support early-stage blockchain ventures. The initiative is part of the XRPL Japan and Korea Fund, itself aligned with Ripple’s broader $1 billion XRP grant program.

📌 Startups will gain access not only to funding but also to technical resources, business mentorship, and professional connections.

Christina Chan, Senior Director of Developer Growth at RippleX, stated:

“We’re excited to collaborate with Web3 Salon to unlock new opportunities in Japan’s thriving startup landscape. Together, we aim to fuel innovation and empower the next generation of tech leaders.”

Clear Rules, Strong Partners, and a Market Full of Potential

Japan is globally known for its technological sophistication and clear, transparent regulations. Ripple already maintains strong partnerships in the country — including with SBI Holdings, HashKey DX, and Mercari.

🔹 By the end of 2025, up to 80% of Japanese banks are expected to adopt XRP-based solutions, laying a strong foundation for growth in payments, supply chain finance, Web3, NFTs, and venture funding.

Hinza Asif, President of Asia Web3 Alliance Japan, commented:

“Japan is both an exciting and challenging market for Web3. Through this partnership with Ripple, we aim to support visionary founders and build a bridge between global innovation and Japan’s tech ecosystem.”

Partnership Announced Amid Expectations of XRP Case Resolution

The announcement comes just as the 60-day deadline approaches in the long-standing legal case between Ripple and the U.S. SEC regarding the classification of XRP. Tensions remain high following a second mysterious legal filing by attorney Justin Keener.

Ripple Offers a Ray of Hope for Japan Amid Economic Headwinds

Japan’s economy has recently faced mounting pressure due to trade conflicts between the U.S. and Asia — particularly from tariffs introduced during Donald Trump’s presidency. Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba recently described the situation as “worse than Greece’s economic collapse.”

🌍 Ripple’s alliance with Web3 Salon is not just a technological leap, but also a potential economic catalyst.

Blockchain, global connectivity, and smart investment in innovation — this may be the formula Japan needs to reignite growth in the digital era.
