A new phishing campaign is sweeping across Google Play, targeting unsuspecting cryptocurrency users. If you’ve downloaded certain wallet apps recently, your funds could be in danger.
According to a report by Cyble Research and Intelligence Labs (CRIL), more than 20 malicious crypto wallet appswere discovered on Google Play — engineered to steal your wallet recovery phrase and drain your assets.
Why Are These Apps So Dangerous?
These fake apps are part of an active phishing campaign targeting users of major DeFi wallets:
SushiSwap
PancakeSwap
Hyperliquid
Raydium
Once installed, these apps prompt users to enter their 12-word wallet recovery phrase — the master key to your crypto wallet.
👉 If entered, attackers gain full access and can instantly transfer out your funds.
How Do These Apps Work?
Distributed via recycled developer accounts (previously trusted for gaming or video apps)
Use phishing links inside their privacy policies
Mimic official wallet UIs with copycat package names
