🔄 TRADING PAIRS 101: How I Choose the Right Pairs for My Strategy

Ever wondered what BTC/USDT, SOL/BNB, or ETH/BTC really mean? Let’s break it down 👇

🧠 What Are Trading Pairs?

A trading pair is simply the two assets you're exchanging. The first is what you're buying or selling; the second is what you're using to measure its value.

✅ Example:

If you trade BTC/USDT, you’re trading Bitcoin against Tether (a stablecoin).

Buy BTC/USDT ➡️ You're buying BTC using USDT

Sell BTC/USDT ➡️ You're selling BTC to get USDT

🎯 How I Pick the Right Trading Pairs

🟡 1. Liquidity First

I prioritize pairs with high volume (like BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT) — tight spreads, fast execution, fewer surprises.

🟠 2. Volatility = Opportunity

For scalping, I love volatile pairs like SOL/USDT or DOGE/USDT — fast moves = fast profits (if you're quick enough 😉).

🔵 3. Correlation with BTC

If BTC is ranging, I explore alt/BTC pairs to find relative strength/weakness (e.g., if SOL/BTC is rising, SOL is outperforming BTC).

🟣 4. Strategy Match

Long-Term HODL: I look for BTC/USDT or ETH/USDT

Short-Term Scalps: SOL/USDT, BNB/USDT

Experimenting with Trends: ALT/BNB or ALT/ETH pairs can be goldmines when trends flip

🔍 Pro Tips:

Use TradingView to compare charts of the same asset across different pairs.

Watch funding rates and open interest for futures pairs on Binance Futures.

Avoid exotic pairs with low volume unless you’re intentionally swing trading with patience.
