The origins of BOB

The BOB project was born in a context where the Bitcoin ecosystem was seeking to evolve to meet the growing needs of users and developers. While blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, or Binance Smart Chain dominated the dApp and decentralized finance (DeFi) market, Bitcoin remained behind in these areas due to its technical constraints, notably its low scalability and the native absence of complex smart contracts. The team behind BOB, composed of blockchain experts and developers passionate about Bitcoin, decided to take on this challenge. Their objective was clear: to create a bridge between Bitcoin and EVM ecosystems, thus allowing developers to leverage the security of Bitcoin while using familiar tools like Solidity (the programming language of Ethereum).
