#CryptoFees101 #CryptoFees101: What are fees in cryptocurrencies and why are they important?
Fees are the charges you pay for processing a transaction on the blockchain. They do not simply "come out of thin air": fees go to miners or validators who secure the network and confirm transactions.
The level of fees depends on the load on the network. For example, in Ethereum during times of high activity, fees can reach several dozen dollars, while in less congested networks like Solana or Polygon, fees are minimal.
💡Tip: always check the fees before a transaction. Some wallets allow you to choose the “speed” of the transaction — the faster, the more expensive.
