#CryptoFees101

In crypto trading, there are several types of fees that can significantly impact trading profitability.

Types of fees in crypto trading

1. Trading fee

Taker fee — when you take liquidity (execute an order at market price).

Maker fee — when you provide liquidity (place a limit order).

Usually, the maker fee is lower, and sometimes it is even nonexistent.

2. Deposit/withdrawal fee

Depends on the currency and blockchain. For example, withdrawing USDT via ERC-20 is more expensive than via Tron (TRC-20).

3. Swap/convert fee

Used for instant exchanges, especially on DEXs (Uniswap, PancakeSwap, etc.).

4. Gas fee

Relevant for DEX and any operations on the blockchain (especially on Ethereum).

Fees can reach tens of dollars during peak hours.

5. Hidden spreads

The difference between the buying and selling price. The less liquid the pair, the higher the spread.

6. Funding fee

In futures trading: a fee for holding a position. It can be either positive or negative.

7. Custody/storage fee
