President Donald Trump$TRUMP is set to sell his Tesla, following the ongoing tension between him and Elon Musk , as confirmed by two senior officials in the White House. This marks a significant escalation in their very public feud, which has attracted considerable attention, making the stakes higher for both.

A White House official, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated on Friday that Trump intends to part with the red Tesla he purchased in March. Initially, the vehicle had served as a symbol of Trump’s support for Musk, especially as the tech mogul had been facing criticism for his connection with the Trump administration. However, officials now report that the president has lost interest in any further involvement with Musk, even though the billionaire had earlier suggested that he was open to mending their relationship.

The rift deepened when Musk softened his stance on a previous threat to shut down SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft operations, a key component of NASA’s missions to the International Space Station. Just after this move, prominent investor Bill Ackman encouraged the two men to resolve their differences for the country's sake, to which Musk responded affirmatively, acknowledging the point.

The conflict could carry serious ramifications for both sides. Musk’s companies, especially SpaceX, have received substantial federal contracts, and further agreements were anticipated. However, with Trump now threatening to cut these deals, Musk’s business ventures could face significant financial challenges.

With their relationship deteriorating, Musk’s future financial backing now appears uncertain.
