#TrumpVsMusk Less than a week after praising each other in the Oval Office, U.S. President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, publicly and fiercely disagreed.
In the escalating war of words, both men used their own social media platforms to attack each other.
While many political analysts predicted that their alliance would not last long, the speed at which it unraveled is still astonishing.
Just last week, Donald Trump praised Elon Musk as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), overseeing the cutting of billions in federal spending.
The South African-born billionaire decided to step away from government work to focus on his business, which has been affected by his involvement in politics.
Speaking at a farewell event at the White House last week, the U.S. president called Musk “one of the greatest business leaders and innovators the world has ever produced.”
“He has stepped up to dedicate his tremendous talent to serving the country, and we are very grateful for that,” Donald Trump said.
He added, “I just want to say that Elon has worked tirelessly to help lead the most comprehensive and meaningful government reform program in many generations.”
In response, Elon Musk, who was presented with a golden key symbolizing the White House, stated that he would continue to visit Donald Trump as “a friend and advisor.”
