Are you starting in crypto?
Be careful, you could get scammed, (and how to avoid it)
Entering the world of cryptocurrencies is exciting, but it can also be dangerous if you don't know how to protect yourself.
Here I explain clearly and simply how scammers operate and what you can do to protect yourself.
The most common scams in crypto:
They promise you daily profits
If someone tells you "earn 2% daily without doing anything," it's almost certainly a scam.
THERE IS NO EASY MONEY.
Celebrities who “recommend” projects
Many scammers use edited photos or videos of celebrities.
Don't believe everything you see on social media.
Projects that disappear with your money (rug pulls)
They seem legitimate, but when they gather enough money... they disappear.
You are left with the loss.
They ask you to invite more people to earn more (pyramid schemes)
If they tell you that you earn more by inviting friends, be careful.
It's a very common trap.
Urgent offers like “last chance”
If they rush you to invest right now, without time to think, it's suspicious.
Never invest in a hurry.
How to protect yourself if you're starting
Research before investing: Look it up on Google, read reviews, see if the project has a history or is just newly invented.
Use known platforms: Binance, Coinbase, Kraken... and no, don't get into strange websites.
Don't click on unverified links.
Never share your private key or seed phrase: If someone asks for it, they want to steal from you.
Enable two-step authentication (2FA): It's like putting two locks on your account.
Be suspicious if they promise quick results: In crypto, no one can guarantee you profits, that doesn't exist.
You are not alone.
If you have ever been scammed, don't feel guilty.
It happens to many people.
The important thing is to learn and move on.
