WASHINGTON, June 6 - RIA Novosti. Employees of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which was previously headed by businessman Elon Musk, fear politically motivated investigations, as well as problems with future employment against the backdrop of Musk's feud with U.S. President Donald Trump, reports ABC News citing sources.
According to the television channel, some DOGE employees fear that if the conflict between Trump and Musk escalates, the president may initiate an investigation into the department that could also affect them. Other employees are concerned that working at DOGE may negatively impact their future employment prospects.
Musk left his position as head of DOGE last Friday, and already on Thursday a public spat occurred between him and Trump over the budget proposal suggested by the U.S. President, which the businessman called "an atrocious monstrosity" on Tuesday, subsequently urging to "kill" the document. In response, Trump stated that he was disappointed in Musk, as he "did a lot for him." After that, Musk expressed the opinion that it was thanks to him that Trump became president and that the Republicans gained control of both houses of Congress. The entrepreneur also publicly supported the idea of impeaching Trump. After the spat with the president, shares of Musk's company Tesla plummeted nearly 14% at the opening of trading on Wall Street.$DOGE
