Some Common Mistakes I Made as a Trader (You Probably Have Too)

I’m not here to act like I’ve figured it all out — I haven’t.

But I’ve learned a lot from losing money, missing chances, and doing dumb things over and over again.

Here are some mistakes I made more than once:

Entering trades too fast, just because it “looked good”

Holding bad trades, hoping they’d bounce

Selling winners too early out of fear

Overtrading when I was bored

Risking way too much on one setup

Ignoring my stop loss because “this one’s different”

It wasn’t one big loss that hit me — it was death by a thousand small ones.

What helped me fix it:

Slowing down. Waiting for clean setups.

Risking small so I don’t panic.

Writing down my trades and how I felt.

Sticking to a plan, even when it’s boring.

Accepting that losses are part of the game.

I still mess up sometimes. But I mess up less.

And I keep showing up — that’s what matters to me now.

If you’ve made any of these mistakes too, you’re not alone. We learn, we grow.
