OtterCookie, a malware disguised as interview software, steals data from macOS — passwords, certificates, and cryptocurrency wallet keys. Analysts at SlowMist link the attack to the North Korean group Lazarus, known for the Bybit hack of $1.5 billion, and note the rise in popularity of social engineering over mass exploits.
What to do? Crypto specialists are advised to ignore suspicious files from employers, use antivirus software, and check systems. Lazarus is also attacking Solana and Exodus environments, and the FBI recently blocked a fake Blocknovas website created by hackers.
