#TrumpVsMusk
As of June 6, 2025, a major public feud has broken out between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, marking a sharp reversal from their previously close relationship.
The conflict began when Elon Musk, who had served as a senior advisor in Trump’s administration, publicly criticized a major legislative proposal known as the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act." Musk called the bill a "disgusting abomination," voicing concerns that it could increase the national debt by $3 trillion and harm the electric vehicle industry by cutting key subsidies. He officially stepped down from his advisory role on May 28, 2025.
President Trump responded by accusing Musk of disloyalty, claiming he had asked Musk to leave. He also threatened to revoke federal contracts and subsidies that benefit Musk’s companies, including Tesla and SpaceX. The announcement caused a sharp decline in Tesla’s stock price.
The feud escalated further when Musk publicly supported efforts to impeach Trump and endorsed Vice President JD Vance as a potential replacement. Musk also made vague and unverified allegations that Trump was linked to undisclosed Epstein files. Trump fired back by accusing Musk of having "lost his mind" and said he had no interest in reconciling.
This dramatic split between two of the most influential figures in politics and business has added significant uncertainty to both Washington and Wall Street.
