On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump criticized billionaire Elon Musk, stating he feels "disappointed" due to Musk's public opposition to the comprehensive tax and spending cut bill that is central to Trump's agenda. Musk responded, "Without me, the U.S. president would have lost the election."

Trump said in a statement at the White House, "Elon and I have a great relationship... I don't know if we will remain that way anymore."

He added, "He has said the nicest things about me, and he hasn't said bad things about me personally, but I'm sure that will come later. But I feel a great disappointment in Elon... I have helped him a lot."

Trump also confirmed that Musk launched a fierce attack on the bill due to the proposed elimination of tax breaks for electric vehicle owners.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has stated that he opposes the bill because it will increase the federal deficit.

Trump pointed out that Musk, who received a warm farewell from the U.S. president last week after overseeing his campaign to cut federal costs, is upset because he misses working with the U.S. president.
