🔐 Deepening the Foundations of Crypto Trading
📘 Topic 6: #CryptoSecurity101
Security comes first in crypto. You can be a great trader, but if you neglect the protection of your assets, everything can be lost in seconds. Here I share how I manage my security and some tips to keep you SAFU.
🧊 Hot wallet or cold wallet?
I use both. Hot wallets (like Trust Wallet or MetaMask) are convenient for trading and DeFi, but more vulnerable. That's why I keep my long-term savings in a cold wallet (Ledger), disconnected from the internet and much safer.
🔑 Management of private keys and passwords:
I never share my keys or recovery phrases.
I use an encrypted password manager.
I enable 2FA (two-factor authentication) on all my exchange accounts.
🧠 Good practices for staying safe:
I never sign transactions on sites I don't recognize.
I always double-check the URL and avoid clicking on links from private messages or emails.
Every time I interact with a new DEX or protocol, I use a secondary wallet with a small balance.
💡 Tip for beginners:
Set up your security from day one! Don't wait to experience a scare before you start protecting your crypto.
