U.S. President Donald Trump criticized billionaire Elon Musk on Thursday, saying he feels "disappointed" due to Musk's public opposition to the comprehensive tax and spending cut bill that is at the heart of Trump's agenda, while Musk stated, "Without me, the U.S. president would have lost the elections."

Trump said in a statement at the White House, "Elon and I have a great relationship... I don't know if we will remain that way anymore."

He added, "He has said the nicest things about me, and he hasn't said bad things about me personally, except I'm sure that will come later. But I feel a great disappointment in Elon... I have helped him a lot."
