🔐 Crypto Trading Fundamentals – Topic 6: #CryptoSecurity101
In crypto, you are your own bank—and with that comes responsibility. Security isn't optional, it’s essential. Here's how I protect my assets and stay SAFU in Web3:
🧊 Hot Wallets vs Cold Wallets
Hot Wallets: Connected to the internet (like MetaMask or Trust Wallet). Great for daily transactions, but more vulnerable to hacks.
Cold Wallets: Offline storage (like Ledger or Trezor). Best for long-term holding and maximum security.
✅ My Setup: I use a mix of both.
Hot wallets for low-risk, active trading and DeFi interactions.
Cold wallet for storing the bulk of my portfolio — especially long-term holds like BTC and ETH.
🛡️ My Crypto Security Best Practices:
Always enable 2FA (not just SMS — use an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy).
Never share your seed phrase — not with friends, not with "support", not ever.
Use hardware wallets for serious funds.
Regularly update your wallet apps and revoke permissions from dApps you no longer use (check on platforms like revoke.cash).
Watch out for phishing links and fake airdrops — always double-check URLs.
⚠️ Reminder: One small mistake in crypto security can be irreversible.
🧠 Stay smart. Stay cautious. Stay SAFU.
