Metaplanet announces its goal: to hold 210,000 bitcoins by 2027
"Japan Strategy" Metaplanet begins to accelerate its Bitcoin accumulation plan for 2025-2027
Copying the Strategy of Bitcoin strategies, Japanese company Metaplanet tweeted that it will significantly accelerate its Bitcoin strategy over the next two years.
It has set an ambitious goal of accumulating approximately 110,000 BTC during this period and holding 210,000 bitcoins by the end of 2027. This amounts to 1% of the total BTC supply of 21 million.
Metaplanet has completely transformed into a Bitcoin asset management company and started increasing its Bitcoin (BTC) holdings, following the Strategy of Michael Saylor (formerly MicroStrategy).
The company currently holds 580,955 bitcoins, worth over 61 billion US dollars.
The most recent BTC acquisition was announced on Monday when Strategy purchased 705 bitcoins for about 75.1 million US dollars.
The new target of holding 110,000 bitcoins by the end of 2027 was referred to as the "5.55 billion plan" in a disclosure document released earlier today on the X platform.
Before announcing the new Bitcoin target, Metaplanet announced it would issue 5.55 billion MS warrants. The goal is to raise 770.9 billion yen (including prepayments for stock subscription rights). All funds raised from the sale of these warrants will be used for holding Bitcoin.
