#TradingPairs101
A trading pair consists of two cryptocurrencies: the base currency and the quote currency. The base currency is the first listed asset and the one you are buying or selling, while the quote currency is the second and shows how much of it you need to buy one unit of the base. For example, in ETH/USDT, ETH is the base and USDT (a stablecoin) is the quote, meaning you pay USDT to buy ETH.
Traders often prefer stablecoin pairs like BTC/USDT for lower volatility and better liquidity, but crypto-denominated pairs can offer more profit opportunities. To choose the right pair, consider liquidity, trading volume, and your trading goals to ensure smooth execution and manageable risk.
