On June 5, 2025, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, together with the Ukrainian Startup Fund, announced the launch of the Sandbox project aimed at supporting startups in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain. The project provides Ukrainian companies with a unique opportunity to test their products for free, receive audits, consultations, and recommendations from experts on legal, business, and technical aspects.

The Sandbox is aimed at startups developing solutions for public administration, healthcare, agriculture, education, defense, and the digital economy. According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, there are over 2,600 startups in Ukraine, 18% of which emerged after the onset of the full-scale invasion. The project aims not only to support these initiatives but also to help the state form effective legislation that takes into account the needs of technology companies.

Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that the Sandbox will contribute to the development of Ukraine as an IT hub, as the country systematically creates conditions for innovation. Project participants will be able to refine their products under the supervision of top experts, which will increase their investment attractiveness. At the same time, the state will gain access to innovative solutions that can be applied in the public sector.

This step is part of a global trend: similar initiatives are already successfully operating in Singapore, Japan, and the United Kingdom, contributing to the development of high technologies.
