#TradingPairs101
A trading pair consists of two different currencies or assets that can be exchanged for each other on a financial market. It's always quoted as a ratio, like EUR/USD or BTC/ETH.
The first currency in the pair is the base currency, and the second is the quote/counter currency. When you see a price for EUR/USD, it tells you how much of the USD (quote) is needed to buy one unit of EUR (base).
Understanding trading pairs is fundamental to forex, cryptocurrency, and other financial markets, as all transactions involve simultaneously buying one asset while selling another within the pair.
