PANews, June 6 - According to a statement from OpenAI's official website, The New York Times is requesting the court to compel OpenAI to 'indefinitely' retain all ChatGPT user chat records and API client content in its lawsuit. In response, CEO Sam Altman stated that this move 'seriously deviates from the commitment to user privacy' and emphasized that the company has filed an appeal and will 'strongly oppose any demands that harm user privacy.' OpenAI stated that the affected users are non-enterprise ChatGPT users and API users who have not signed a 'zero data retention' agreement, and the data will be encrypted for storage, accessible only to the legal team.
