Japan has set a world record for internet speed of one million gigabytes/second

🚀 Japan has just set a world record for internet speed of one million gigabytes/second!

Imagine downloading 10,000 movies in 4K resolution in just one second. The new fiber optics in Japan have made that possible.

In a significant leap for global internet infrastructure, Japanese researchers smashed records by transmitting data at a speed of 1.02 petabytes per second - that’s one million gigabytes per second - over more than 1,100 miles using specialized fiber optics no thicker than the fiber optics we use today.

This amazing achievement was accomplished using 19-core fiber optics, turning a single data path into a highway of 19 lanes. The system maintained stability over long distances thanks to new signal amplification technology and advanced digital processing methods that removed interference and cleaned the data.

This achievement not only allows for ultra-fast downloads but also paves the way for a data-ready future powered by artificial intelligence, sixth-generation networks, virtual reality, and billions of connected devices.
