Senator Lummis: US military leadership supports the idea of a strategic Bitcoin reserve

The senator's comments addressed the tensions between the United States and China, citing appointed US generals in Southeast Asia. US Senator Cynthia Lummis has indicated that certain divisions within the American military are backing the idea of a national Bitcoin reserve to address the threats of economic wars.

During an interview with Bloomberg on June 3, Lummis said that some US generals, especially those in Southeast Asia, support the idea of storing BTC as part of a strategic geopolitical move.

"All we need to do is look at the leadership of the current US military to find support for a strategic Bitcoin reserve," Lummis said, adding that:

"There are generals, especially in Southeast Asia, who believe it is important to have a strategic Bitcoin reserve because we are waging an economic war with China and we must prepare for a war of arms and bullets. But we need both."
